Since growing up in the Cleveland area, Bobby Selvaggio has established himself
as one of the top jazz musicians in the area. He is currently teaching
saxophone and jazz combos and improvisation at the Aurora School of Music. He
has also shown his dedication in teaching young jazz musicians by giving
clinics and master classes in improvisation and composition throughout
Northeast Ohio and Canada.
After receiving a Bachelor of Music in Music Performance from Kent State
University, Bobby went to New York City and earned a masters degree in Jazz
Performance on a full scholarship from Manhattan School of Music. While in NYC
he studied with such jazz greats as Joe Lovano, Bobby Watson, Dick Oatts, and
Maria Schneider. He has performed with the Vanguard Jazz Orchestra, the Joe
Lovano Nonet, Dan Wall, and Jamey Haddad, among many others.
Since moving back to Cleveland with his wife Chelsea and son Julian, Bobby has
recorded three cd’s with notables Dan Wall on Piano and Chris Howes on violin.
