Neill Chambers has been a musician all his life. In 1980, he
was a student at the University of Cincinnati Conservatory of Music studying
the big boys - Mozart, Brahms, Beethoven - when he was given tickets to see
Ella Fitzgerald live in concert. Immediately he started playing jazz. Neill
also studied and completed graduate level master classes with musician and
composer Phil Rizzo, former arranger for Stan Kenton.
At the suggestion of his mentor, Neill began composing and arranging for some
of the area's musical theatre productions. He was Musical Director and
Composer-in-Residence at the Beck Center Theatre for the Performing Arts in
Cleveland, Ohio, arranging and composing original music for many stage
productions.
Today, Neill lives in Los Angeles where he writes, directs, arranges and
performs. He has recorded two albums and performs regularly, equally at home
with classical and chamber music, as well as jazz, reggae, rock and blues.
